Retreat!

Imagine being tucked away with like minded peers, with one objective…to learn and sew. No housework, no errands, no distractions…this is the purpose of Retreats! The Brazos Bluebonnet Quilt Guild currently offers several retreat opportunities for members.

On the First Friday of the month, we offer a First Friday “mini retreat” for members, 10am - 3:00pm at the American Legion Post #159. This is a great opportunity for individuals who need to be home at night or are unable to travel. Note that there will not be a First Friday retreat in July as it occurs on the 4th.

The Winter Retreat is typically the last weekend of January at Camp Lone Star Recreation Center in La Grange, TX. This retreat typically fills up fast with a waiting list. The Spring Retreat is typically in early March and the Fall Retreat is in mid-October. Both are held at Twelve Pines center in Huntsville. The Summer Retreat is held in mid-June at the Stagecoach Retreat Center in Coldspring.

As an expansion of the local First Friday “mini-retreat” and to serve as fundraisers, the Guild will host two ‘Bare Bones’ Day Camps in May and November. The retreat takes place 9am-6pm each day at Peace Lutheran Church Fellowship Hall, College Station, TX. No sleepover, but machines, projects, and supplies can stay set up overnight. Cost is $65 for each 2 day event with 18 available slots at each event.

Details of each retreat are posted for members on our private messaging service, Groups.io.
