Meetings

The guild typically meets monthly on the second Thursday of every month. At this time, a Zoom feed is also available to allow remote participation due to Covid concerns.

Sign-in & social time begins at 6:00 p.m with the meeting called to order at 6:30pm. Visitors can attend 2 meetings before being expected to join as a member.

The January Meeting is officially designated as a Business Meeting in the Guild Bylaws and includes a review of the budget for the forthcoming year as well as volunteer needs and scheduled programming.

Other meetings will incorporate an abbreviated business meeting component, including approval of prior minutes and Treasurer’s Report, before moving on to a formal speaker or technique discussion as the program. Some meetings will focus on preparation for upcoming events, such as preparation for a Quilt Show. Program related educational workshops, will be held on the Friday following the meeting.

The December meeting is typically a potluck Christmas Party. Past meetings have included a gift exchange. But in 2021, the Christmas Party included a charity silent auction of donated items instead of a gift exchange between members. By doing so, the Guild raised over $800 for the Brazos Valley Food Bank and as one member announced, helped her get her holiday shopping out of the way.

The meeting is held at the American Legion Post 159, 101 Waco St., Bryan, TX 77803.
